“With nine scripts, over eight-hundred pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding one. Everyone involved is incredibly proud of the results, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
Given the unprecedented length, and to get it to you as soon as possible, Season 4 will be released in two volumes. Volume One will release on May 27th; Volume Two will release five weeks later on July 1st.
So that’s the good news. It’s coming soon. And it’s bigger than ever.
It’s also the beginning of the end.
Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things. At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but—as you’ll soon see for yourselves—we are now hurtling toward our finale. Season 4 will be the penultimate season; Season 5 will be the last.
There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things; new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes. But first we hope that you stay with us as we finish this tale of a powerful girl named Eleven and her brave friends, of a broken police chief and a ferocious mom, of a small town called Hawkins and an alternate dimension known only as the Upside Down.”

I can’t believe a non-canon Ron x Mrs. Cattermole kiss ended up being my favorite HP film kiss.

Oh yeah, spoiler alert 🚨
- Carmen found out that she was pregnant at work, after her co-workers encouraged her to take a blood test when she spent a whole week complaining of fatigue and lightheadedness, and was shocked when it confirmed her pregnant. After two weeks, she told Johnny, who was more terrified than excited. Despite his improving relationship with his own son, Johnny panics about messing up again as a father and worries that his second child may grow up to hate him.
- Robby and Miguel were still in the process of accepting each other as stepbrothers and immediately pushed aside that awkward tension when they realized that they were going to share a little half-sibling because, hell yes, they would be the best big brothers ever!
- Johnny and Carmen insisted that they didn’t care about the gender, but Carmen secretly hoped for a girl to name after her late mother-in-law; Johnny, on the other hand, saw the “pros and cons” to having either a boy or girl. He did know, however, that his child would be a little badass and learn karate as soon as possible. Carmen wanted the baby to grow up playing sports and learning to cook no matter what.
- Rosa and Johnny were with Carmen in the delivery room, and Rosa made sure that Robby and Miguel could hear the baby via Johnny’s phone. As soon as everyone heard that first scream, the world seemed to stop as emotions crashed over everybody. Robby and Miguel walked into the corner of the waiting room so nobody would suspect that they were crying in joy. Johnny instantly cut the umbilical cord and took the newborn to hold in his arms, overwhelmed with joy and fear. When Carmen announced her intention to name their baby girl after her grandmothers, Johnny was unable to speak but wholeheartedly agreed.
- Miguel and Robby were both awkward holding their half-sister, but they came to hate having to let go of her. She slept soundly like Miguel as a baby, and the first thing Shannon texted her son when Johnny sent her a picture of Robby and the newborn was, “She is almost the spitting image of you when you were born!”
- Johnny, at everyone’s urging, changed Laura’s first diaper and probably messed up five times before he was successful. He still hated that Miguel filmed him messing up and trying to keep his impatient daughter calm.
- Robby and Miguel are the best babysitters ever! They are happy to spend free afternoons singing nursery rhymes and the alphabet to Laura, they fight over bath time, they insist on reading to her every night, and they do not hesitate to invite their friends and classmates to meet the baby. They don’t like “you’re her protector” jokes, thought, because they equate it to assumptions that Laura will never know how to take care of herself and will always need Robby and Miguel to keep her safe. The boys choose to attend nearby community colleges due to finances, which allows them to spend more time with the little one.
- Of course the LaRussos would eventually find out about the baby, but Johnny and Carmen didn’t mind when Daniel and Amanda gave them a “Congratulations!” card; they even invited them over to meet the baby. To their surprise, the LaRussos gave them so many baby toys that they kept for years and knew that Laura would make better use of. Despite Kreese being gone for good, tensions still exist between the two dojos, but of course Daniel pushes it aside for the day and jokes about giving Laura her first car, and Sam keeps texting Miguel and Robby for the latest pictures (which they are always happy to share!).
- Johnny tells little Laura stories of her grandmother all the time. He keeps a journal of his favorite memories so his daughter will one day cherish the stories of the grandmother she would never know. Every year, he takes her to his mother’s grave on Mother’s Day and Grandma Lawrence’s birthday to lay down flowers. Every time, Laura asks if Grandma Lawrence would have loved her; Johnny always responds with, “You and Robby would have been her entire world.”
- Laura is fluent in both Spanish and English, something that actually pleases Johnny until she begins speaking in Spanish to have private conversations with her mother and Ya-Ya, which irritates him because he thinks that his daughter is making fun of him without his understanding (and because learning Spanish, no matter how much Rosa and Carmen try to teach him, is something he can’t really master).
- Laura learns karate from her father and half-brothers (Johnny doesn’t even mind that she learns Okinawa-te from Robby because the more karate and self-defense she knows, the better), practices being a nurse on her toys, and likes to sit on the counter and watch her Ya-Ya make dinner. Miguel teaches her to ride a bike, and she pleads with Robby to teach her how to use a skateboard (which he doesn’t do until she is at least eight).
- Like many girls, Laura mostly resembles her father but has her mother’s eyes and curly hair. However, Johnny only sees his mother in his daughter’s face. He likes to think that little Laura is her grandmother’s reincarnation because she is so like the late Laura in spirit: careful, caring, bold, silly, and funny. Every time she sees “Uncles” Bobby and Jimmy, they can’t help but compare her to the woman who loved all of her son’s friends.
- Johnny and Carmen’s pride and joy is an honors student in school, wins many academic and extracurricular awards, and even spends a summer in Ecuador to teach English and learn about her heritage. She wins scholarships for achievement in Spanish and for her volunteer work in her mother and grandmother’s home country.
YES!!! THIS!!!
I would absolutely watch a spin-off about the Lawrence-Diaz-Keene siblings and their interactions with the Larusso siblings and Ali’s kids.
